In the Season 2 premiere "What Lies Ahead" Daryl Dixon (Norman Reedus) takes a Colt Detective Special revolver from a dead body he discovered in a tent in the woods after the group come across it. He later gives it to Lori Grimes (Sarah Wayne Callies) who carries it in her back pocket. Andrea (Laurie Holden) gets mad about the fact she can't have a gun due to a suicide attempt last season and Lori is tired of hearing it so she gives her the revolver and gives the group a stern talking to. After that Andrea gives the revolver back to Lori Grimes. In Season 2 Episode 6, Secrets, Carl Grimes (Chandler Riggs) swipes this revolver from inside Dale Horvath's RV and after it is discovered under his shirt by Shane Walsh (Jon Bernthal) he is scolded but ultimately permitted to attend a target practice session which was held by Shane. During the target practice we see Patricia (Jane McNeill) firing the Colt Detective Special off on the firing line. Shane tries to give Carl the Colt Detective Special again in Season 2 Episode 7, Pretty Much Dead Already, but Lori intervenes. Lori takes the Colt Detective Special with her in Season 2 Episode 8, Nebraska, for protection to go find Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln), Hershel Greene (Scott Wilson) and Glenn (Steven Yeun) in town and fires it in self-defense from a zombie in the following episode. Lori fires her Colt Detective Special again multiple times at walkers in Season 2 Episode 13, Beside the Dying Fire, after Hershel's farm is overun.
